Access Content Lab in your Kaltura application

About

Content Lab lets you use AI-powered tools to create additional content from your media and order accessibility and localization services. This article explains where to find and access Content Lab in each supported Kaltura application.

For some accessibility services, you can also open the relevant Content Lab ordering workflow directly from an entry’s three-dot menu.

The features available in the Content Lab workspace depend on the services enabled for your account, your permissions, and the selected media.

The blue button

In most supported Kaltura applications, a prominent blue button indicates that Content Lab is available for the selected media. Depending on the application, the button is labeled Create with Content Lab or Create from media.

Select the button to open the Content Lab workspace for the selected media. The sections below show where to find it in each application.

In some applications, you can also access specific accessibility services directly from the media entry's three-dot menu.

If the button is gray

If the selected video isn’t eligible for Content Lab’s AI-powered features, the button is gray and cannot be selected. Hover over the button to see why it is disabled.

To use Content Lab features:

  • The video must have a Ready status, indicating that it has finished transcoding.
  • The video must be at least 60 seconds long.
  • The video must have English captions.
  • Your account must have Content Lab enabled, together with an active REACH profile and the relevant catalog items.
