What's new
New configuration framework for AEM
The Kaltura Connector for AEM (Adobe Experience Manager) now uses AEM's context-aware configuration framework (Sling CAConfig) instead of the legacy cloud service configuration.
This change ensures continued compatibility with current and future versions of AEM as a Cloud Service, which is progressively deprecating the legacy cloud service configuration pattern.
What this means for customers:
- Existing embeds will continue to work without any changes — no content re-authoring is required.
- Customers will need to configure their Kaltura settings using the new context-aware configuration settings in AEM.

Video versioning
The AEM Connector now supports video versioning, giving teams full control over when an updated video goes live on a published page.
A new video version can be prepared and reviewed internally before it ever reaches the live site — the published page and its existing video remain completely untouched throughout the process.
This is particularly valuable for teams with compliance or legal review requirements. Reviewers can evaluate the full page experience — layout, copy, and updated video — in AEM before anything is approved for publication.
The live site is only updated once the new version has been explicitly published, ensuring no unreviewed content ever reaches visitors.
How it works:
- An AEM Content Creator replaces the source file of an existing video in in Content Hubs.
- The video is made available for review in AEM while the live page continues to show the current version.
- The AEM Author opens the Kaltura Video Component and re-embeds the updated version.
- The updated version becomes live when the AEM page is published.
Prerequisites:
- A Shared Repository must be configured for Content Creators in Content Hubs.
- An Agentic Workflow must be configured to route media from the Content Hubs Shared Repository to the AEM Shared Repository.
- Video Versioning must be enabled for the AEM site.

About
We’re excited to introduce the Kaltura Video Connector for Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), a new integration that brings Kaltura’s video capabilities directly into AEM as a Cloud Service.
What's new
This release introduces the Kaltura Video Connector for AEM as a Cloud Service, enabling authors to embed Kaltura media directly in AEM pages.
It includes:
- Native AEM component: Authors can drag and drop the Kaltura Video component onto a page and embed media from their Kaltura library.
- Seamless embed using Kaltura’s browse, search and embed (BSE) capabilities: Authors can browse, search, preview, and embed Kaltura videos, media, and players without leaving the AEM page editor.
- Cloud-native, lightweight and enterprise-ready: The integration can easily be installed through Adobe’s Cloud Manager. Customer media stays within Kaltura while AEM only stores lightweight references, reducing storage and speeding up publishing. Only the content authors are authorized to use is visible to them, based on their access level in Kaltura.
- Analytics-ready syncing: Analytics, including viewer data (anonymous and authenticated), are automatically passed to Rich Media Content Management System (Rich Media CMS) out of the box.
