You can enable the channelsubscription module so users can subscribe to channels and get email notifications for new content and updates.
Make sure to also enable the emailnotifications module and check the "Entry was added to channel" option in Manage Notifications.
Channel managers need to enable subscriptions on the channel edit page. For more information, see our article Manage channel subscribers.
Configure
- Go to your Configuration Management console, and navigate to the Channelsubscription module. You can also navigate directly: https://{your_site_URL}/admin/config/tab/channelsubscription.
- Configure the following:
The Channelsubscription page displays.
enabled - Set to 'Yes' to enable the module.
subscriptionDefault -Set to 'Yes' to enable subscriptions by default for new channels.
EnhanceSubscription - Click Enable advanced subscription to enable enhanced subscriptions. Once enabled:
- new channels automatically use the enhanced subscription model.
- existing channels continue to use the legacy subscription model until upgraded.
- channel owners and managers can upgrade eligible channels from the Subscribers page.
- enhanced subscriptions support larger subscriber volumes and provide subscriber search and pagination.
subscribersEmailTemplate - Select the email template used when subscriber lists are delivered by email.
Templates are configured in the EmailTemplates module.
The download link is sent to the channel manager's email address.
Channel owners can still turn the subscription feature on and off from the individual channel configuration page. See Create a channel to learn more.
