About
This article explains how AEM Content Creators can upload and manage media in Kaltura's Content Hubs for use on AEM (Adobe Experience Manager) pages.
Before you start
Your administrator must set up media sharing for AEM before you can publish media for AEM Authors.
Step 1: Upload media
- In Content Hubs, click the +Create button in the top navigation bar, then select Upload from the menu.
- Click Select Files, and select one or more files from your device to upload.

The Upload Media page opens.

The files begin uploading.

While a file is processing, you have the option to click Edit to update its details. After making any changes, click Save.
Step 2: Publish media to the Shared Repository
Publishing media to the Shared Repository makes it available to AEM Authors for embedding on AEM pages.
Publish a single media item
You can publish an item directly from the Upload Media page after uploading it.
- On the Upload Media page, click Media Page for the media you want to publish.
- Click the three dots below the player and select Publish status > Publish.

The Publish window opens on the Channels tab by default.

- Select the Shared Repository that was set up for your organization.
- Click Save changes.

You don't need to wait for the media to finish processing. You can continue with the publishing steps, and the media will appear in the Shared Repository once processing is complete.
The media page opens.

The media is published to the Shared Repository.
It may take a few moments to become available to AEM Authors.
Publish multiple media items
To publish several uploaded items at once, use My Media.
- If you're still on the Upload Media page, click My Media.
- Select the items you want to publish.
- At the top of the page, click Publish, then select Publish from the menu.
- Select the Shared Repository that was set up for your organization.
- Click Save Changes.

If you're not on the Upload Media page, you can access My Media from the user menu.

The My Media page displays.

The Publish window opens on the Channels tab by default.

The media is published to the Shared Repository and becomes available to AEM Authors.
Once it's available, AEM Authors can embed it using the Kaltura Video component. See AEM Author's guide to embedding Kaltura media.
Replace media
If Video Versioning is enabled, you can replace the media's source file without changing the version currently displayed on the published AEM page.
- Select My Media from the user menu.
- Locate the video you want to replace, click the three dots to the right, and select Edit.
- Click the Assets tab.
- Under Replace Media, click Upload.
- Select the replacement file from your computer.
The My Media page displays.

The edit page opens on the Details tab.

The replacement file begins processing.

- To make the replacement version live, an AEM Author must re-embed the video and publish the AEM page. Until then, the published page continues to display the previous version.
- Video Versioning only applies to new embeds created after the feature is enabled.
