Advanced player setting: Set the default player volume

You can set the default player volume through the player’s Advanced Settings. This configuration is not exposed in the standard Player Studio interface.

Use this setting to define the player’s starting volume when playback begins. For the user guide, see Playback Functionality.

Access the advanced settings

  1. Log in to your KMC and click the Studio tab. 
  2. The Player Studio page displays. 

  3. Click the player you want to edit from the list (or use the search bar in the top right).
  4. If you haven't created a player yet, check out our article Create a player for guidance.

  5. Scroll to the bottom of the player settings and click Advanced Settings.
  6. The Advanced Settings editor displays.

Set the default volume

  1. In the Advanced Settings tab, hover over playback then click the green + icon. 
  2. The Key Name box displays.

  3. In the box, enter Volume, then click the green checkmark or press 'Enter'.
  4. You’ll see the new setting listed.

  5. Hover over the setting and click the green edit icon.
  6. In the box that opens, enter a value between 0 and 1 (for example, 0.5 for 50% volume), then click the small green checkmark.
  7. Click Save at the top right before exiting.
  8. Volume assigned a value of 0.5
