Media likes, plays, and comments

About

On the media page, the user can like or unlike the media, see how many likes and/or comments have been left by viewers, and see how many playbacks the media has had. This functionality is available just to the right of the media title.

If your Video Portal uses the new Theming design system, see our updated Media page article for the latest layout and features.

Media page interactions

Likes - Likes are specific to this location only. This is the only place where users can click the "like" button. (Likes will only show if it has been enabled in the Application module.)

Plays - Plays (formally 'views') denote playback of the video itself in the context of the Video Portal. (The plays feature must be enabled in the Application module.)

Comments - Users can see the comments below the video on the Media page. (This feature must be enabled in the Comments module.)

To learn more about how plays are tracked and how playback analytics work across the Video Portal, LMS Video, and the KMC, see our Kaltura analytics article.
