Playback speed control lets viewers change how fast a video plays. As an admin, you can control whether playback speed appears in the player controls, in the settings menu, or is disabled completely.

Access the player settings

1. Log in to your KMC and click the Studio tab. 



The Player Studio page displays. 

2. Click the player you want to edit from the list (or use the search bar in the top right).

Set playback speed control

1. In the Playback options section find Speed and click the toggle to enable the setting.

2. Configure the following:

Show speed control – Choose whether playback speed is available to viewers:

• Checked – Viewers can change playback speed. Choose where the control appears using the 'View options' setting below.
• Unchecked – Playback speed is hidden from both the player controls and the settings menu.

View options – Choose where viewers change playback speed (only applies when 'Show speed control' is checked):

• Inline – Shows a full playback speed menu directly in the player control bar.
• Settings based – Shows playback speed in the player settings menu (default).

Playback speed – Defines which playback speed options are available to viewers. Supported speeds: 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2 (default is 1x)

3. Click Save at the top right of the settings page.
