You can start an ad hoc recording directly from the Lecture Capture application. You can record a camera, screen, or multiple inputs.

If you select one input (camera or screen), Lecture Capture creates a single video. If you use the default settings or select more than one device, Lecture Capture creates a video file for each device.

To display multiple streams at the same time, you need an updated Kaltura dual-screen player. For more information about viewing options, see Viewing Rich Media in the Kaltura Player.

Before you start

Install Lecture Capture before you start recording. See Install Lecture Capture.

If your administrator configured authentication for Lecture Capture, see Sign in to Lecture Capture.

Configure the inputs you want to record:

• To record only your screen or camera, click the video icon for the input you don’t want to record.
• To record multiple inputs, click the plus icon and configure the additional inputs. See Select recording inputs.

  

You can also configure individual inputs:

• Configure an audio input

Start recording

1. Click Start recording in the middle of the recording screen.

A five-second countdown appears before the recording starts.



The recording duration appears under the Start recording, Stop recording, and Cancel controls.



2. To pause the recording, click the pause icon. Click it again to resume recording.



3. Click the Stop square to stop recording.
