About
Channel owners can enable Genie in their channels to let users ask questions and discover content based on that channel’s media. They can turn Genie on or off, depending on how the admin has configured it.
The instructions below are for Theming users. If you don't have Theming enabled, please refer to our article Add Genie to specific channels.
Enable Genie in a channel
- From the user menu, select My Channels.
- Find the channel you want to add Genie to and either click Go to channel button or the media thumbnail.
- At the far right, open the Actions menu and select Configure.
- Click the Genie tab.
- Check the Enable box then click Submit (it may already be enabled by default, depending on your admin’s setup).

The My Channels page displays.

The channel page opens.

The channel edit page opens on the Details tab by default.

The tab appears only if your admin has made Genie available to channel owners.

Set Genie's display
- Click the Advanced settings tab.
- Scroll down to Channel layout.
- In the Channel layout section, choose Tabs or Vertical.
- Next, scroll down to Sections, and check the box next to Genie to display the 'Ask anything' experience on the channel page.
- (Optional) In the Default tab settings, check the box next to Genie so that visitors land on the 'Ask Anything' tab when they open the channel.
