Themingmedia module


About

The Themingmedia module allows you to control theming options available to media owners and co-editors in the media edit experience.

Using this module, administrators can:

  • Configure which players media owners can select
  • Configure which media page elements media owners can show or hide

This feature requires the Theming module to be enabled, with the 'mediapage' and 'mediaedit' features set to 'Yes'.

Configure

1. Go to your Configuration Management console, and click on the Themingmedia module. You can also navigate directly using a link: https://{your_site_URL}/admin/config/tab/themingmedia.

The 'Themingmedia' page displays.

2. Configure the following:

enabled - Set to 'Yes' to enable the module.

allowedRoles - Select the minimum role allowed to configure media theme and layout settings:

  • privateOnly Role
  • admin Role
  • unmoderatedAdmin Role
  • Specific Users / Groups

If you choose Specific Users / Groups, an additional field displays.

a. Click +Add "allowedUsers" at the far right.

A new user field opens.

b. Click Select Users / Groups to open the user popup.

c. In the popup, type in the user ID or name, then click Submit.

Repeat this process to add additional users or groups.

customPlayers - This section controls which players media owners can select in Theme & layout settings.

a. In the customPlayers section, select + Add "customPlayers".

b. Configure the following fields:

  • playerDisplayName - The player name displayed to media owners in the media edit page
  • playerId - Enter the Player ID for the selected player.
  • entryType - Select from the dropdown the media type for which the player is available:
    • All
    • Video
    • Quiz
    • Audio
    • Image
    • Webcast/Live
    • YouTube

Repeat this process to add more players.

elements - The elements section controls which media page elements media owners can manage. Select the elements you want media owners to control:

  • Header
  • Header logo
  • Sidebar
  • Title & Actions bar
  • Creation date & owner
  • Description
  • Tags
  • Appears in indication
  • Current channel
  • Custom data
  • Speakers
  • Footer

3. Click Save.
