About
Live webcasts are orchestrated, highly produced live-streaming events for large audiences. With live webcasts you have the added flexibility of "going live" directly from a Kaltura webcast studio (if the stream has already been initiated through the encoder tool). Once a live webcast session is created in Kaltura Events, the Kaltura webcast studio is automatically created with stage ratio of a player (16:9). This gives the webcast studio user the exact experience and layout that the end users will experience as they watch the player.
The moderator may access the webcast studio via a direct private link. This way, they can begin preparing the webcast studio ahead of the broadcast. This experience is designed for single-user operation, meaning only one user can be in the studio at a time.
For information on creating Live webcast sessions and launching the Kaltura webcast studio, see Agenda tab - Add and edit Live webcast session.

When the webcast studio is initially launched, it is done so in either Offline or Preview mode, depending on whether or not the stream has been initiated yet through the encoder tool. See Best practices for streaming to Kaltura which includes information on setting up the stream itself.
