The Moderator app gives event staff a centralized workspace for monitoring and managing live event activity. Designed for moderators, the app provides real-time visibility into attendee engagement, communication tools, session controls, and event insights, helping teams deliver a smooth and engaging event experience.

Note - The Moderator app is available to moderators in supported Kaltura Virtual Events sessions. If you do not see the Moderator app, your event configuration may not include this feature.

With the Moderator app, you can:

Monitor attendee activity and engagement in real time.
Manage chat, Q&A, polls, and other interactive experiences.
Access moderation tools and event controls from a single interface.
Coordinate with presenters, moderators, and event staff.
Respond quickly to audience needs and live session developments.
Track event performance and engagement metrics as sessions unfold.

Whether you're overseeing a single session or managing a complex multi-session event, the Moderator app helps you stay informed, organized, and in control throughout the event lifecycle.

Prerequisites

You must be assigned as a moderator for the relevant session.
The Moderator app is intended for moderators managing live event interactions.
Access to specific features may depend on your event configuration.

Access the Moderator app

You can access the Moderator app in four ways, depending on your workflow:

Kaltura Virtual Events management platform	Click on Interactions > Chat settings
Kaltura Virtual Events management platform	Click on Agenda > Session page (Live webcast, DIY live webcast, or Pre-recorded)
Event site and Event session page	Click on the three dots in the lower right corner of the Chat & Collaboration widget screen and click Open app.
