As a moderator, you have tools to manage conversations, interactions, and participants during a live session. The tools available depend on the session type, your assigned permissions, and the account configuration.

Manage conversations and interactions
Use the engagement panel to manage session activity, including:
- Chat and Q&A – Moderate messages and questions.
- Interactions – Create and manage polls and other interactions.
- Feed – Manage pinned items and published interactions.
- Updates – Send notifications to participants.
- Backchannel – Chat privately with other moderators and speakers.
Manage participants
For live sessions that include a Kaltura Room, moderators can also manage participants and the live stage. Depending on your permissions, you can:
- Manage participants during the session
- Control stage access
- Assign moderator and speaker roles
- Manage participant permissions
- Create and send access links
