Activity indicators (red dots) let you know when there's new activity in a tab you're not currently viewing.
Understand activity indicators
Red dots appear on different tabs depending on where there's new activity:
- Chat – There's a new message.
- Q&A – There's a new question or new activity on an existing question.
- Feed – A new item has been published to the feed.
The red dot disappears when the user clicks on the tab.
When the engagement panel is closed
When the engagement panel is closed, an activity indicator appears on the panel icon when there's new activity.
