Ltigrading module

About

The Ltigrading module ensures seamless integration between Kaltura Video Quizzes in KAF and the LMS gradebook. When a student submits a quiz, KAF uses specific LTI parameters provided by the LMS to send the score to the corresponding gradebook entry.

To pass grades successfully, quizzes must be launched as assignments (e.g., from the LMS Assignments or Assessments area). Launching from a standard course page, gallery, or module does not connect the quiz to the LMS gradebook.

To ensure grades are transmitted correctly, make sure your LMS assignment is properly configured for LTI. For step-by-step instructions, refer to the Quiz Gradebook setup guide for your LMS integration.

The Hosted module must also be enabled to use this module.

Configure

1. Go to your Configuration Management console, locate the Ltigrading module in the left panel, then select it. You can also navigate directly using a link: https://{your_KAF_URL}/admin/config/tab/ltigrading.

The Ltigrading page displays.

2. Configure the following:

enabled - Set to 'Yes' to enable the module.

displayGradeSubmissionStatus - Controls whether the v7 player displays a message about the grade submission status after a student submits a quiz. This setting does not control whether the grade is sent to the LMS gradebook.

  • Quizzes embedded in regular LMS content:
    • 'Yes' - A message states that the score could not be sent to the gradebook because the quiz is not connected to a graded LMS assignment.
    • 'No' - No gradebook status message appears. The in-video quiz score is displayed according to the quiz settings.
  • Graded quizzes added as an external tool in an LMS assignment:
    • 'Yes' - A message indicates whether the score was successfully recorded in the LMS gradebook or the submission failed.
    • 'No' - No gradebook status message appears. The score is still sent to the LMS gradebook, and the in-video quiz score is displayed according to the quiz settings.

Grade submission status messages are supported only in Player V7. Player V2 displays the standard quiz completion screen without these messages.

3. Click Save.
