Kalturacapture module


About

The Kalturacapture module lets administrators control how Kaltura Capture is available in their environment.

The Capture option appears in the +Create menu when the Theming design system is enabled, and in the Add New menu when Theming is not enabled.

Configure

1. Go to your Configuration Management console, and click the Kalturacapture module. You can also navigate directly using a link: https://{your_KMS_URL}/admin/config/tab/Kalturacapture.

The Kalturacapture page displays.

2. Configure the following:

enabled - Set to 'Yes' to enable the module.

AllowDownloadingClient - Set to 'Yes' to allow end users to download the Kaltura capture recording application.

AddNewLabel - Enter a custom label for the 'Add New' menu. If left empty 'Kaltura Capture' will be used. 

This setting does not apply in instances where the Theming design system is enabled.

allowedRoles - Select the minimum role that can use Kaltura Capture. Users with this role and any higher role can access Capture.

entryURL - Enter a URL to redirect users after their recording is uploaded. Leave blank to redirect users to the application’s base URL.

enableBSE - Set to 'Yes' to allow users to launch Kaltura Capture from the Browse, Search, and Embed (BSE) window.

  • The enableBSE setting is available in the Configuration Management console for KAF and LMS Video environments only. It does not appear in Video Portal instances.
  • In KAF environments where the Theming design system is enabled, this setting does not apply.

limitAppToken - Set to 'Yes' to limit the time of the Capture application token to 12 hours.

For the limitAppToken setting to apply to existing users, their appToken must first be cleared. If you need to clear the appToken for a user, you can refer to instructions here.

3. Click Save.
