Configure media page display and layout – Theming

About

Use the Theme & layout tab to control how the media page is displayed to viewers, including which player is used and which elements appear on the page.

Available options depend on your site configuration, enabled modules, media type, and permissions.

Who can use this

  • Media owners
  • Co-editors

Access the Theme & layout tab

  1. From the user menu, select My Media
  2. The 'My Media' page displays.

  3. Click the three dots to the right of the desired media and select Edit.
  4. Alternatively, you can access the edit page from the media page by clicking the three-dot menu and selecting Edit.

The edit media page opens on the Details tab by default, with a left-hand navigation.

  5. In the left navigation, select Theme & layout.

Make the changes as desired then click Save in the top-right corner to apply them.

Choose which player is used

You can choose which player is used to display the media.

  • In the Media player section, select a player from the dropdown (only available players appear in the list). If a selected player is no longer available, the system automatically switches back to the default player.

If available, you can select Set as embed player. When selected, this player is used when the media is embedded in other locations.

This option appears only when embedding is supported for the selected player.

Preview the media in the player

Preview how the media will appear using the selected player.

  • The preview reflects the currently selected player.
  • Playback behavior follows the player’s configuration.
  • The preview updates automatically when you change the player.

If no player is available for the media type, the preview section isn’t shown.

Control which elements appear on the page

In the Show elements section, you can choose which elements are shown on the media page.  All elements are selected by default - select or clear the checkboxes as you choose:
