When captions or transcripts are generated using Reach, profanity filtering is applied based on the settings in the selected Reach profile.
Each Reach vendor uses its own profanity list. During processing, words that appear on the vendor’s list are replaced or masked according to the configured filter settings.
The list of censored words depends on the vendor used by your Reach profile:
- Verbit – Uses the profanity list defined in their official documentation. See Verbit’s source here
- Kaltura – Uses Kaltura’s internal profanity list. See Kaltura’s source here
You can change which vendor’s list applies by selecting a different Reach profile.
