Dates and times appear all over your site, from media creation dates to scheduled events. In Content Hubs and the legacy Video Portal, the TimeAndDate module lets you choose their format, including for each language on your site.

The module uses three date formats, and each one appears in different places on your site:

• Long: The full date, including the day of the week, for example, Thursday, June 12, 2025.
• Short: The date without the day of the week, for example, June 12, 2025.
• Long with no year: The date with the day of the week, but without the year, for example, Thursday, June 12.

You can also set a different date format for each language on your site. This is useful for languages like Japanese, which use their own date characters. By default, your site uses preset formats, but you can build your own with tokens.

Date format tokens

Use these tokens to build a custom date format:

• YYYY: 4-digit year, for example, 2019
• YY: 2-digit year, for example, 19
• MMMM: Full month name, for example, June
• MMM: Short month name, for example, Jun
• MM: Month number with a leading zero, for example, 06
• M: Month number, for example, 6
• dddd: Full day of the week, for example, Sunday
• DD: Day of the month with a leading zero, for example, 01
• D: Day of the month, for example, 1
• Do: Day of the month with an ordinal, for example, 1st

Examples of common date formats

• YYYY-MM-DD: 2019-06-01
• MMMM Do, YYYY: June 1st, 2019
• [The] Do [of] MMMM: The 1st of June
• M/D/YYYY: 6/1/2019
• YYYY[年] MM[月] DD[日] dddd: 2020年 5月11日 火曜日

Configure

1. Go to your Configuration Management console, locate the TimeAndDate module in the left panel, then select it. You can also navigate directly using a link: https://{your_site_url}/admin/config/tab/timeAndDate

The TimeAndDate page displays.



2. Configure the following:
   • timeDisplay - Select how times appear: AM/PM or 24h. Time fields where users enter a time, such as scheduling, always use AM/PM. On Content Hubs sites, the Information box on the edit media page also always shows AM/PM.
   • languageDates - To change the date formats for a language, click +Add "languageDates".

     

     More fields appear. Leave any format field empty to use the default format.

     

     • language - Select the language these formats apply to. Languages without their own formats use the default formats.
     • longDate - Enter the format for the long date, which includes the day of the week. For example, Thursday, June 12, 2025.
     • shortDate - Enter the format for the short date, without the day of the week. For example, June 12, 2025.
     • longDateNoYear - Enter the format for the long date without the year. For example, Thursday, June 12.
   • weekStartDay - Select the day the week starts on.
   • uploadDateStyle - Select how the media upload date appears:
     • x time ago - A relative date, such as 3 months ago or 4 days ago.
     • On date - An exact date in your date format, such as On 4/5/2019.
   • editTimeDisplay - Select the format for date pickers when users edit media fields of type date only: Month-Day (American) or Day-Month (European).
3. Click Save.

Where each date format appears

The following table shows where dates and times appear on Content Hubs pages, and which format each one uses.
