Kaltura Express Capture lets you record video and audio directly from a supported desktop browser. It uses WebRTC technology to access your camera and microphone.
Express Capture is supported on desktop computers only. It is not supported on mobile devices or tablets, including iPhones and iPads.
Supported browsers
Express Capture supports the latest versions of the following desktop browsers:
- Google Chrome
- Mozilla Firefox
- Opera
- Safari on macOS
Safari support applies to Mac computers only. Express Capture is not supported in Safari or other browsers on iPhones and iPads.
Check WebRTC compatibility
You can check whether your browser can access your camera and microphone using WebRTC:
- Go to the WebRTC constraints test.
- Click Get Media.
- Allow the browser to access your camera.
- Wait for the video streams to display.
If the streams don’t display, your browser or device may not support WebRTC or may not have permission to access your camera.
Passing this test confirms that your browser supports the required WebRTC functionality. It does not confirm Express Capture support on an unsupported device, such as an iPhone or iPad.
