Join a session from a guest link

About

You might receive a guest link from a host or moderator inviting you to join a Kaltura Room session.

The link lets you join the session without a Kaltura account. When you open the link, you'll enter your name and email before joining.

  • A guest link can be shared with multiple people, so it isn't tied specifically to you.
  • The link may be available only for a limited time or number of uses.

Join the session

  1. Open the guest link you received.
  2. The guest entry page opens.

  3. Enter your name and email address.
  4. Submit your details to join the session.

You may need to wait for the session moderator to admit you.

What you'll see in the room

Once you join, you can view the session and use available interaction features. The features available to you depend on the session configuration.

As a guest, you have access only to the session. You can't navigate to other pages on the site or access features that require an assigned role.

Chat may not be available to guests in every session. If you can't post messages in the chat, this may be due to the session's guest chat settings.

Troubleshooting

If you can't join using your guest link, the link may no longer be available. This can happen if:

  • The host or moderator turned off guest access.
  • The link expired.
  • The link reached its usage limit.
  • The room is no longer available.

If the link isn't available, you'll see an access denied page.
