No. Kaltura automatically issues and manages SSL certificates for alias hostnames (custom domains) using Cloudflare.
When you configure an alias hostname, Kaltura automatically handles SSL certificates. This means SSL certificates are:
- issued automatically
- renewed automatically
No manual certificate setup or renewal is required in the standard configuration.
This applies to Kaltura applications hosted on Kaltura’s SaaS environment, including:
- Video Portal
- LMS Video (KAF)
- Kaltura Events
If your organization does not allow automatic certificate management, you can configure your own CDN or proxy and manage SSL certificates independently. For setup instructions, see Set up an alias hostname for Kaltura Video Portal and KAF integrations for details.
