Screen sharing allows moderators, hosts, and permitted participants to present content directly from their device during a session.
When sharing your screen, you can choose to share:
- Your entire screen
- A specific application window
- A specific browser tab
Screen sharing can be started whether you are on stage or participating as a viewer (if you have permission).
Screen sharing is supported in modern browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge.
Share your screen
- Click the Share content icon on the bottom toolbar and select Share screen.
- Choose what you want to share:
A screen sharing source menu opens.
- Entire Screen - Shares everything displayed on your screen. If you use multiple monitors, you can choose which screen to share.
- Window - Shares a specific application window.
- Tab - Shares a single browser tab.
Your content appears on the stage for all participants.
Share system audio
When sharing a browser tab or application window, you can optionally enable Share system audio so participants can hear the audio from the shared content.
System audio sharing is supported in Chrome and Microsoft Edge.
What participants see when you share your screen
When screen sharing begins:
- The shared content appears on the stage for all participants.
- Webcam views of participants on stage remain visible above the shared content.
- The presenter sees a notification indicating that screen sharing is active.
Stop sharing your screen
You can stop screen sharing in several ways:
- Click Stop Sharing in the screen sharing notification bar.
- Click Stop Presenting on the stage.
- Click the X on the screen share icon in the bottom toolbar.
macOS permissions
On macOS, your browser must have Screen Recording permission to share your screen.
To enable this permission:
- Click the Apple menu.
- Select System Settings (or System Preferences).
- Open Privacy & Security.
- Select Screen Recording.
- Enable the permission for your browser.
You may need to restart the browser before screen sharing works.
