Create and publish quiz questions in a live session

About

Use quiz questions to check participants’ understanding during a live session. You can mark one or more answers as correct and choose whether to show the correct answers and results to attendees.

You can prepare a quiz before the session begins, then save it as a draft, schedule it, or publish it immediately.

Create a quiz question

  1. On the session page, click the Interactions tab in the upper-right corner to open the Interactions panel.
  2. Click Quiz question.
  3. The quiz question form opens.

  4. Enter your question. A question can contain up to 300 characters.
  5. Enter the answer choices. Each answer can contain up to 100 characters.
  6. To add another answer, click + Add answer choice. A quiz can include up to eight answers.

To remove an answer, hover over it and click the trash can icon.

  7. Click the check mark next to each correct answer.
  8. You must mark at least one answer as correct. Correct answers display in green.

You can mark more than one answer, including all the answers.

  9. Select any of the following:
  • Display correct answer - Display the correct answer or answers to attendees.
  • Share results with attendees - Display the quiz results to attendees.
  • Set an answer timeout - Limit how long participants have to respond. When you select this option, an additional field displays:
  • Use the arrows to set the response window:

    • Default: 5 minutes
    • Minimum: 1 minute
    • Maximum: 120 minutes

Participants who have not yet answered see a countdown. When the response window ends, the quiz closes automatically.

7. Set how long the quiz notification remains visible to participants. Use the arrows to choose the duration:

  • Seconds – From 5 to 60 seconds
  • Minutes – From 1 to 10 minutes

Save, schedule, or publish the quiz question

Choose one of the following:

  • Save as draft – Save the quiz without publishing it. You can find it under Saved interactions.
  • Publish now – Publish the quiz immediately. Participants receive a notification when the quiz is available.
  • Schedule – Click the arrow next to Publish now and select Schedule. Schedule the quiz relative to the session start or for a specific future date and time, then click Schedule. For full instructions, see Schedule interactions.
