Clone a Live Studio session in Video Portal

About

Cloning a Live Studio session lets you duplicate an existing session setup, including its structure, participants, content, and associated C&C (Chat and collaboration) assets with ease.

This is useful when you want to run a recurring live event or reuse the same session format without setting everything up again from scratch.

What happens when you clone a session?

When you clone a Live Studio session, the following components are duplicated:

  • Live session setup - The session configuration is duplicated.
  • Storyboard - The storyboard is fully copied from the original session template.
  • Content from C&C - All non-deleted interactions (e.g., notifications, polls, quizzes) are copied as 'Draft'.
  • Assigned users and roles - Collaborators, speakers, moderators, chat moderators, and room moderators are included.
  • Attachments - All files attached to the original session are copied to the cloned session.
  • Tags and description - The session metadata, including tags and description, is copied from the original session.
  • Ownership - The new session is owned by the user who initiated the cloning process.

The cloned session is created as a new entry and behaves like a new session, with the same structure as the original.

Before you start

To use the Live Studio session clone feature, ensure:

  • C&C (Chat and Collaboration) is enabled in your Video Portal.
  • You have ownership or co-editor permissions for the session you want to clone.
