Use the Miro whiteboard in Kaltura Rooms in Sakai

Kaltura Rooms support integration with the Miro whiteboard, allowing moderators to present and collaborate on a shared board during a session.

  • Participants without moderator permissions can view the board but cannot interact with it unless collaboration is enabled within Miro.
  • Miro content is not included in session recordings.

Launch the Miro whiteboard

  1. Click the three dots on the bottom toolbar and select Integrations.
  2. The 'Integrations' window opens.

  3. Under the Miro integration, click Add to stage.
  4. A Miro window opens.

  5. You can choose to:
  • Create a board without signing in
  • Sign in to Miro to create and select an existing board

After selecting a board, it appears on the stage.

If you create a board without signing in, it will be an anonymous board. Anonymous boards cannot be saved for later use and other participants will not be able to collaborate. Signing in to a Miro account allows you to create or select existing boards and enable collaboration.

If your browser blocks the popup window, allow popups for your site in your browser settings and reopen the Miro integration.

Close the Miro whiteboard

To close the whiteboard, click Stop presenting at the top right of the board.

Miro boards are not captured in session recordings. If recording is active while using the Miro whiteboard, moderators will see a notification indicating that the board will not appear in the recording.
