About
Some Avatar Video projects include background media (B-roll) to support the avatar narration. B-roll can be a video clip or a slide from a presentation.
You can manage B-roll directly from the editor, including repositioning video clips, replacing media, changing slides, and hiding media from scenes.
Open a project
- Select My Avatar Videos from the user menu.
- Locate the desired project, click the three dots and select Edit project.

The 'My Avatar Videos' page opens.

Projects are displayed in a grid sorted by the most recently updated.

The project opens in the editor.

Manage B-roll
Scenes containing B-roll display a media thumbnail and media controls. If the scene contains a video clip, you can reposition it within the original video to better match the narration. You manage B-roll from the Media panel as follows:
- Locate the scene containing the B-roll.
- To open the Media panel, do one of the following:
- Click the gear icon on the media thumbnail.
- Click Media on the upper right toolbar.

The Media panel opens.

From the Media panel, you can:
- edit the clip selection (video clips only)
- add a slide
- change a slide
- replace source media
- hide the media from the scene
Note about video clips:
- If the clip is shorter than the scene narration duration, it loops automatically.
- If the clip is longer than the scene narration duration, it is trimmed automatically.
Edit clip selection
In the Media panel, click Edit clip selection.
The clip editor opens.
The clip editor includes:
- a video preview player
- playback controls
- a timeline
- zoom controls
- the selected clip range
Reposition the clip
You can reposition the selected clip within the source video, but you can't manually change the clip duration.
1. Drag the highlighted clip range left or right on the timeline. The preview updates automatically while dragging.

You can also click a location on the timeline to move the selected clip range directly to that position.
The preview updates automatically while repositioning the clip.
2. Click Change clip to save the updated clip position.
Change the timeline view
The clip editor opens in 'Zoom' view by default, focused on the selected clip range.
Click Full video to display the entire source video timeline.

Click Zoom to focus on the selected clip range again.
Preview the clip
Click the play button to preview the selected clip.
Playback stops automatically at the end of the selected clip range.
Add a slide
When no B-roll is assigned to a scene, you can add a slide from a presentation.
- Open the Media panel and select Add a slide.
- Select the desired file.
- The 'Select a slide' window opens.
- Click the desired slide.

The 'Select a presentation' window opens and displays presentation files (PPT/PPTX).

You can search for a presentation or upload a new one.

The slide is added, and the scene preview and timeline thumbnail update automatically.
Slides use Fill sizing. Presentation slides that aren't 16:9 are automatically cropped to fill the video frame.
Change a slide
- Open the Media panel and click Change slide.
- Select a different slide.

The 'Select a slide' window opens for the current presentation.
The selected slide replaces the current slide and the scene preview and timeline thumbnail update automatically.
Replace source media
You can replace the current B-roll with a different video clip or presentation slide.
1. In the Media panel, click Select a different media and click one of the following:
- Select a video clip
- Select a slide

The source selection window opens.
- Video clips - Only captioned video entries can be used as source videos. Entries without captions don't appear in the source selector.
- Slides - Only presentation files (PPT/PPTX) are displayed in the source selector.
2. Locate the replacement media and click Select.
The selected media replaces the current source media for the scene.
Reposition the replacement video clip
If you replace the media with a video clip, the clip editor opens so you can reposition the clip before adding it to the scene.
1. Drag the selected clip range to reposition the clip within the new source video.

You can then click Zoom to focus on the selected clip range and refine the clip position.
2. When you're done, click Add clip to scene.

The media is replaced.

Hide media
Hide the B-roll when you want the scene to display only the avatar.
- Open the Media panel.
- Click Hide from scene.

The media is removed from the scene preview, and the scene displays only the avatar narration.
